Marcus Lillington

Marcus co-founded Headscape with Chris and Paul in 2002. In internet terms Marcus is very old. Almost as old as Chris. He splits his time between dealing with new business opportunities and consultancy engagements.

What do you do at Headscape?

I have two roles: one, responding to requests for work by writing proposals and attending pitches and two, carrying out business analysis and information architecture work. Oh, and thirdly (there’s always something else), hosting the Boagworld podcast.

What do you do when you aren’t doing that?

Avoiding anything with a microchip in it.

What has been your favourite project to work on and why?

The next one. I’m an optimist.

Do you have a hobby or interest we should know about?

I’ve been playing guitar for 37 years now, sometimes famously.

What is your greatest personal achievement?

22 years married and two fab children… I guess equally with two number one selling singles in the US back in the eighties.

You can't beat a good Californian Zinfandel I reckon. And, I find that long walks in the woods with my dogs on a Sunday are the best hangover cure! My favourite place is Hartley Wintney Cricket Club - hallowed ground indeed. I have to admit that I'm a bit of a golf nut too - silly clothes, daft rules, maddeningly difficult but thoroughly addictive. And, in the picture above, I'm playing the actual best guitar in the world.
